Getting Started

MoneyFex is an innovative money transfer company that specialises in post money transfer management and payment services. Post transfer management is achieved through a virtual accounting system that allows a money sender to register a digital wallet called KiiPay in the name of a potential beneficiary who lives abroad. This wallet can be credited online from abroad and control usage by the money sender (registrar). A digital wallet registered by a money sender comes with a user-friendly dashboard that is instantly accessible to beneficiary (i.e. wallet user) who in most cases will be living in the money sender’s home country.

This dashboard comes with unique features that allow the wallet user to see the balance, payments made to the wallet, controls set by the wallet registrar, transaction history, pay for goods and services worldwide.

Using a secure token that is generated by the wallet user and official ID information as identifiers, the wallet user can withdraw money from a MoneyFex paying agent, transfer money to bank accounts or other local wallets in their country of residence.

The payment service of MoneyFex on the other hand, runs on the company's proprietary transfer platform. This service allows both the money sender and the beneficiary to make direct payments to businesses that are registered with MoneyFex’s network of service providers.

MoneyFex offers a simple and convenient way to transfer and control money sent abroad, and also to pay for goods and services.

You can pay for your transfer using a debit or credit card, or a deposit to MoneyFex’s bank transfer. You can also pay through one of our local agents.

MoneyFex allows you to transfer money to West Africa and some countries in Asia. We are currently preparing to launch our services in other parts of Africa, Asia, South America and Australia too.

MoneyFex accepts money transfer services from Europe, Asia and North America. The fees to transfer money may vary depending on the registered country of the sender.

The maximum amount of money you can transfer will depend on where you live. This is because different countries have different rules relating to money transfers.

The maximum amount will also depend on how you pay as some card companies may have expenditure limits on online payment

In most cases, transfers sent using MoneyFex’s platform arrive instantly. There are some transfers that can take longer depending on the payment method used.

Note that your transfer will not be sent until MoneyFex has received your payment

You must provide a mobile phone number of your receiver to allow MoneyFex to send notifications to both you and the receiver about the progress of your transfer.

To comply with anti-money laundering regulations, MoneyFex will require a copy of your photo ID (driver's license and passport are the only acceptable forms of ID) and a utility bill to prove your identity and address respectively. Additionally, for transactions of £5,000 and over, MoneyFex will require evidence of the source of funds in the form of payslip or bank statement.

My Account

The name on your account must be your full legal name that appears on your government issued ID.

If you have made a mistake when registering (for example, you misspelled your name), please contact the customer care team who will be happy to help you.

The date of birth on your MoneyFex account must be your real date of birth that appears on your government issued ID.

If you have made a mistake when registering with MoneyFex (for example, you entered your date of birth incorrectly), please contact the customer care team who will be happy to help you.

The address on your MoneyFex account must be your full residential address.

If you have made a mistake when registering (for example you mistyped your address), please go to your My Account Profile on your MoneyFex Dashboard to amend your address.

If you have moved to a new house, your address will need to be updated. In this instance, please go to My Account Profile and follow the instructions on how to update your address.

If you wish to change the e-mail address on your account, please go to My Account Profile and follow the instructions on how to change your email address.

If you have forgotten your MoneyFex account password for the website, please follow the below steps.

Step 1. Go to www.MoneyFex.com

Step 2. Click ‘Login’

Step 3. Click ‘Forgotten Password?’

Step 4. Enter the e-mail address or mobile number used during registration and ‘Request Security Code’

Step 5. Check your e-mail address or mobile number for the e-mail/SMS from us. This email/SMS will include a one time security code.

Step 6. Enter the one time security code

Step 7. After confirmation of the code, proceed to reset your password

Step 8. Enter your new password and confirm

No. We permit only one account per customer.

We do not permit joint accounts or multiple account holders. Each customer must create their own individual account.

This is because we need to ensure that we are completing necessary identity checks on every individual who uses the MoneyFex platform.

If you would like your MoneyFex account to be disabled or closed, please contact our customer service team who will be able to help.

Should you change your mind, you can always reactivate your account by contacting us again.

The balance on all your MoneyFex KiiPay wallets will be refunded to you, and the account disabled. This will mean that your wallet users will no longer be able to withdraw money or make payments using the KiiPay wallet registered by you.

MoneyFex is required by law to keep full records of customers’ transfer history. This means that we cannot remove or delete entries from our database.

Sending Money Online

You can estimate the fees for your transfer directly from the homepage or after login to your account when using our App. You can also get an estimate of the transfer fee and exchange rate, by going to our agents in your home country.

Tracking your transfer is easy, you can do this directly on your dashboard or from the homepage by clicking on Track a Transfer at the bottom of the page. You will need your surname and the MoneyFex Control Number (MFCN).

Note: For MoneyFex KiiPay wallet, you can see the wallet balance and withdrawals by the user from Registered Wallet Statement on the DASHBOARD of Registered wallet after login in.

To see which countries you can send money to, simply go to Find locations

You can send up to £5000.00 within 30 calendar days.

Fees vary depending on where you are sending money to. To see the transfer fees, go to www.moneyfex.com or after login when using our App.

Money is typically available within minutes after confirmation of the online payment.

Note that payment by our agents will be subject to their operating hours and compliance with regulatory requirements within their country.

No!

We will only accept payment from a credit/debit card or bank account that is registered to the money sender’s name and address.

To update your address, log in to your MoneyFex account and go to the account Profile section.

Yes, for security reasons, our agents will not make a payment to the beneficiary if the name on the receiver’s Identification Document does not match the name stated by the sender.

For MoneyFex KiiPay wallet users, the name on the Identification Document must match the name on the wallet for withdrawals.

Please check the name of your MoneyFex KiiPay wallet user as it appears on their ID, before registering an account or sending money to them.

Do not hesitate to contact MoneyFex Customer Care team if your digital wallet user or receiver is still having problems withdrawing or receiving money.

No. For security reasons, your KiiPay wallet user or beneficiary can only collect money from the country that the money was sent to. If the beneficiary is out of the country and unable to collect the money, please go to the “Transfer in Progress” section on your account Dashboard and cancel the transfer. You can choose to send this transfer to your receiver’s new location.

Yes. Our customer care centre can help you transfer money and also make a payment to your MoneyFex KiiPay wallet. However, we encourage you to use the online platform as the volume of calls may be very high in the day.

For those who have sporadic internet connection in their country of residence, please go to Find Location to search for MoneyFex Agents who will be happy to help transfer money for you.

Cancellations and Refunds

Login to your account and go to Cash Pickup transfer in Progress and cancel the transfer. However, you won’t be able to cancel a transfer that has been held by MoneyFex Customer Service or processed i.e. the receiver has been paid.

Transfer cancellation is instant. Refund will be made approximately 48 hours after the cancellation has been requested.

A refund of the money that was due to be transferred, will be made approximately 48 hours after the cancellation has been requested.

This may vary depending on the payment method and provider you chose. Please note that if you cancel a transfer, the transfer fee will not be refunded, only the money that was due to be transferred will be refunded, and only if the transfer has not yet been processed (i.e the receiver has not yet been paid).

No. Under no circumstances will we be able to recall a paid transfer.

If you have transferred money to a wrong receiver, you must contact us immediately so that we can try to stop the transfer from being processed by our agents.

Receiving money

When receiving money, you will need the MoneyFex Control Number (MFCN) for the transaction along with a valid photo ID. The person who sent money should have the MFCN. Some countries also require a valid proof of address when an I.D. does not contain an address.

Funds are usually available to be received instantly after confirmation of payment. In some cases, MoneyFex may require additional information from you before completing the process.

  • A valid photo ID that shows their full name (this must match the details supplied by the money sender), and
  • The MoneyFex Control Number (MFCN), which is the number sent to your registered email address/ mobile number after completing the transfer process.

No. Your receiver will not be charged by MoneyFex or by any paying agent in our network when receiving funds.

If your receiver is having difficulty in receiving the money you sent to them, please check:

  • If they have a valid form of ID
  • If they are using the correct MoneyFex Control Number that was sent to you by email/SMS
  • If your transfer has been processed. Use Track a Transfer to find out the status of the transfer.

Go to Find Location to search for the nearest MoneyFex agent in your country of residence.

MoneyFex is only able to pay in the currency of your country of residence.

Sending Money using MoneyFex KiiPay wallet

This is a mobile number associated with with MoneyFex’s KiiPay wallet. With this KiiPay wallet, the money sender can do the following:

  1. Register a wallet in the name of a receiver who lives abroad
  2. Pay money into the wallet anytime using credit/debit card or at our agent.
  3. Control how much can be withdrawn or spent from the wallet at a given time by the wallet user who could be living abroad
  4. Set standing order payments to the KiiPay wallet
  5. Transfer money between multiple wallets registered in the same country
  6. Get instant notifications whenever the wallet is used
  7. See wallet transaction statement
  8. See the balance on each wallet registered by the money sender.

Also, the wallet user can see transaction history, controls set on a wallet and transfer money from their wallet to other wallets and bank accounts and also pay for local services.

Funds are usually available instantly. In some cases, however, we may require additional information from the money sender for the money to be available for the wallet user.

The information required to pay money into a wallet is already saved on your dashboard during registration.

Note: The receiver does not need to be registered with our KiiPay wallet (KiiPay) in order to receive money as we will send them a message with instructions on how to download and register a KiiPay wallet.

No, the money sender pays all fees related to paying money into the wallet.

A MoneyFex KiiPay wallet is registered to a name, address and a country. The wallet can only be used by the person and in the country that it was registered to.

MoneyFex KiiPay wallet can be registered for usage in any country where MoneyFex is available.

Paying for goods and services abroad

MoneyFex offers a user friendly online platform for people to pay for services such as school fees, rent, insurance, airtime top-up, loans, hospital and hotel bills from abroad.

Yes, you can pay monthly bills or top-up services after signing up for a MoneyFex account

A service provider is a business that is selling goods or services. The service provider will only be able to accept payments from customers abroad using the MoneyFex platform after an enhanced due diligence (i.e. legality of their operations) has been conducted by us. If the service provider passes our diligence, the service provider will be added to the database of service providers Authorised by MoneyFex to receive payments through our platform.

Very secure. MoneyFex will not add a service provider who has not been properly vetted by our compliance team

No. MoneyFex cannot recall payments that have been processed. It is your responsibility to contact the service provider and agree on the terms of payment before making the payment.

Yes. A maximum of £500 can be paid to a service provider at a given time. Where large amounts of money are involved, please contact our customer service team who will be happy to help you.

Yes. You must contact the service provider prior to making a payment, as you will need to know their mobile number and the payable amount before making the payment.

Once your payment is confirmed by MoneyFex, the service provider’s electronic wallet is instantly credited. The service provider can then withdraw the money from our paying agent at a time that is convenient to them. An email and notification message is sent to both you and the service provider to confirm the transaction.

No. The registrant (sender) pays all the fees related to the transaction.

Yes!

How safe are my saved credit/debit card details on MoneyFex’s money transfer platform?

Very safe. Your card information is scrambled and part masked to avoid it being compromised.

To add your credit/debit card to your account, go to you profile and click on Saved Credit/Debit Card, follow the instructions to add your add your card

Identity verification

If we need to verify your identity we can accept the following:

  • Current signed passport
  • Current driving license
  • Current Residence permit

To upload your identification documents for verification, please login to your MoneyFex Account Dashboard My Account Profile, Update Photo ID.

Every customer needs to have their identity verified at some stage when using MoneyFex. Part of this process involves photo ID verification.

  1. If you are providing photo ID, it needs to include the following:
    1. Your photograph
    2. Your full name
    3. Your date of birth
    4. The expiry date (the documents MUST NOT have expired)
  1. We may at some stage need further documentation from you after initial verification. If this is the case we will contact you by e-mail or telephone to advise you.
  2. Please send a high quality image. If the image is unclear we may ask for another copy.
  3. We need to see the full document including all four corners. If we cannot see the full document we may ask for another copy.

We have teams dedicated to the monitoring of customer accounts and transactions for signs of unusual activity.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is a regulatory body based in the UK. MoneyFex must ensure it operates in accordance with the rules of the FCA. They ensure that MoneyFex operates in accordance with all appropriate rules, obligations and regulations they set. All financial institutions and services registered in the UK must adhere to these guidelines.

Preventing Fraud

No. MoneyFex will never send you unsolicited emails asking for your personal or financial information. You should only submit this information through your account account dashboard after login.

If you receive a suspicious email purporting to be from MoneyFex, please email us immediately so that we can investigate. Also, if your financial information has been compromised, we recommend that you contact your financial institution immediately.
